Uncovering the Roots of Hormonal Health Challenges
At the Institute for Hormonal Health, we’ve dedicated ourselves to redefining the approach to hormonal issues in modern medicine. Established in 2011, our institute is a collaborative effort led by a team of accomplished professionals.
Our mission emerged from a recognition that current medical practices often fall short in understanding, diagnosing, and treating hormonal problems. This insight drove us to develop comprehensive treatment programs that represent the forefront of Integrative Medicine.
Founded by Dr. Kristy Prouse MD, FRCSC, a renowned OB/GYN and visionary in the field of Hormonal Health, our team encompasses a diverse group of experts. With backgrounds in various medical disciplines, we bring a holistic perspective to the table.
Today, we’re proud to have expanded our reach with two locations, including our latest addition in Toronto. This expansion allows us to better serve patients seeking top-tier care and support for their hormonal health concerns.
Like no other humans before us, we are exposed to significant, repetitive, and cumulative stressors in our hormonal milieu. Among them are emotional stressors, but also physical and environmental stressors that our bodies must combat. In our youth, most of us, but by no means all of us, are able to balance these systems. As we age and our bodies cope with wear and tear, medical conditions, and repetitive insults, our hormonal systems can fail us, resulting in peri-menopausal and menopausal symptoms, PMS, PCOS, cancer (cervical, uterine, breast, ovarian, and prostate), cortisol imbalance, andropause, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, and other ailments.
Optimal hormonal health
Balancing the hormonal system is an intricate process that our bodies automatically perform, until a significant insult disrupts the process. There are many hormones that must act harmoniously to keep us feeling well and healthy. Disruption of one hormone impacts on other hormones, and, if not rebalanced, can result in unpleasant symptoms and disease.
