What is Skin
Loose or sagging skin can occur anywhere on the face or body as a result of aging and sun exposure over the years. Areas prone to skin laxity include the face, jawline (“jowls”), abdomen, knees, and arms. Non-surgical skin tightening treatment helps to stimulate collagen and firm the skin without downtime. GraceMed offers Exilis Ultra by BTL and Skintyte by Sciton – state-of-the-art devices for skin tightening and body contouring, that are approved by Health Canada.
What is Exilis Ultra?
Exilis Ultra is a non-invasive device that simultaneously combines radiofrequency (RF) technology and ultrasound to tighten skin on the face and body. It safely heats the skin to a target temperature which stimulates new collagen production, leading to firmer skin. Exilis may also be used to reduce stubborn pockets of fat, making it a versatile treatment for many patients.
What parts of the body can EXILIS ULTRA treat?
Exilis Ultra can tighten the skin on the following areas:

What to Expect During Exilis Ultra Treatment
Exilis treatment is comfortable and relaxing. Your medical aesthetician will first apply gel or oil to the treatment area. She will then glide the Exilis handpiece over the treatment area, heating the dermal layers of the skin to the desired temperature. Each treatment of a specific body part takes between 15-30 minutes. Most patients describe the sensation as being comparable to that of a hot stone massage.
After the treatment, your skin will feel warm and be slightly pink in colour. This generally resolves quickly. There is no downtime after Exilis, and you can resume regular activities immediately after the treatment.
What is Sciton SkinTyte?
The SkinTyte treatment is based on the principle of selective thermolysis and utilizes pulsed light technology to deeply heat your skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte can be provided quickly and comfortably with no downtime. The end result is a more youthful appearance.
How does SkinTyte work?
The SkinTyte procedure utilizes infrared energy to deeply heat dermal collagen. This process promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body’s natural healing process, which creates a renewed collagen foundation leading to increased skin firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature before, during, and after each pulse providing the patient a comfortable and safe procedure.
What is the SkinTyte treatment like?
The SkinTyte light energy is delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. There is no need for a topical anesthetic, however, your physician may choose to use one on more sensitive areas. A series of pulses will be repeated over the treatment area to ensure the best results. While the face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, the actual time will depend on the area treated.
What should I expect after a SkinTyte treatment?
You may experience some mild redness in the treated area immediately after treatment and this should return to normal within minutes. Since the SkinTyte procedure is non-invasive there is no downtime so you can resume regular activities immediately following treatment. You can also apply makeup and sunscreen after each session.
What results should I expect?
SkinTyte procedure results may vary from patient to patient. The SkinTyte procedure is recommended for patients who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvement without having to undergo surgery. Full results often take up to four months as the collagen foundation of your skin is rebuilt and strengthened.
What is Renuvion?
Renuvion cosmetic technology is the result of extensive scientific research and clinical development. Because of its proprietary balance of helium and RF energy, Renuvion has been described as ideal for medical procedures where precision and control are key to an effective treatment. Renuvion is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment. Renuvion delivers even, controlled energy with exceptional precision and dramatic results.
Over time, we all struggle with changes to the look and feel of our skin. With age, the skin around the face, neck, and other parts of the body (such as the neck, thighs, or arms) can begin to sag and droop, resulting in a much older appearance. With Renuvion skin rejuvenation, you can once again have firm and youthful skin–all with a minimally invasive approach and less downtime.
How does Renuvion work?
Renuvion treatment is performed in-office. A local anesthetic may be used to help minimize any discomfort. During the treatment, Dr. Rice will use the Renuvion handpiece to target your specific skin concerns. The cold helium plasma and RF heating combine for a dual thermal effect™ that causes an immediate contraction and tightening of the underlying tissue. Dr. Castor can fully customize the depth of your treatment for precision results.
Combining Renuvion and Liposuction
Renuvion can be used to boost a patient’s outcome when undergoing liposuction. Renuvion supplement’s fat reduction surgery by simultaneously tightening surrounding tissue, and help with loose skin associated with fat loss. This results in a slimmer, firmer, and natural-looking reshaping of the body.
Is there downtime with Renuvion?
Renuvion is minimally invasive with fewer risks and recovery compared to traditional surgery while still providing dramatic results. With this treatment, you may experience redness red after the initial days after treatment and peeling may occur – similar to that of a mild sunburn. This will last roughly 1-2 weeks as your skin heals.
Renuvion provides patients with a near-instant firming effect of the treated skin, while also stimulating your body’s natural production of collagen. As new collagen forms over time, you will notice further improvements to the look and feel of your skin.
