What is a HydraFacial®

Join the #GLOWVOLUTION

The HydraFacial is the best facial you’ll ever have. The HydraFacial is one of the most popular in-office facial treatments at GraceMed Burlington, GraceMed Kerr Village, and GraceMed Oakville Dermatology. A HydraFacial is performed every 15 seconds around the world. The treatment is the newest advance in non-laser skin resurfacing. HydraFacial is the only hydra-dermabrasion procedure that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more beautiful skin with no discomfort or downtime.

HydraFacial is a medical-grade skin treatment that uses industry-leading technology to clean out your pores, exfoliates and hydrates your skin. It involves multiple steps, starting with cleansing your skin and then exfoliating the dead skin cells.

HydraFacial extracts dirt, grime, and other pollutants that are deep in your pores, then the treatment hydrates the skin with various serums to give you that natural, youthful glow.

HydraFacial® vs Microdermabrasion

Patients lean towards the non-invasive nature of Hydrafacials. It is beneficial as its results are immediate and the procedure has no downtime.

Microdermabrasion is considered to be a minimally invasive procedure. There may be some slight side effects especially if you have sensitive skin, a microdermabrasion may cause redness that lasts several hours or longer depending on how deep your treatment was.

While both procedures clean and exfoliate the skin, Hydrafacials allow for more customization. HydraFacials penetrate deeper with more hydration than the manual application of microdermabrasion. HydraFacials also offer relief from blackheads and find the vacuum component of a HydraFacial is more thorough in the removal of impurities.

HydraFacial® Recovery

A treatment lasts between 30 and 60 minutes to give you clearer, more radiant skin with little to zero irritation, meaning virtually no downtime. No special preparation is required, and patients can return to their normal activities (including wearing makeup) immediately after treatment.

Commonly Asked Questions

Does a HydraFacial work on sensitive skin?

A HydraFacials avoid causing excessive redness by not using pore-softening steam which means that it works for individuals with sensitive skin. And since vacuum-powered extraction is used instead of manual squeezing or lancing of the skin, individuals with sensitive skin can enjoy a deep clean without inflammation.

Does the HydraFacial hurt?

Liquid is deposited with every pass of the treatment wand, patients will never feel pain, skin pulling or scraping. There’s no needling, pinching, abrasion, or anything else. The treatment is very gentle without any discomfort or unpleasant reactions. In my cases, our patients find the treatment relaxing and enjoyable. The treatment can include gentle acids (7.5% glycolic acid[4] and 2.5% salicylic acid[5]), which may feel like a slight tingle.

When should I expect results from my HydraFacial?

The treatment works instanteously on visible pores and fine lines. Patients will witness enhanced firmness and improved texture and complexion, immediately, and they’ll see all their blackheads vanish without a trace. You will leave your HydraFacial treatment with a brighter complexion and glowing skin.

Why is a HydraFacial good for my skin?

Hydration is the key to healthy, radiant skin. External irritation of the skin has been proven to advance signs of aging. HydraFacial is a non-irritating hydrating treatment for your skin.
