Mommy Makeover Procedure
The specific details of surgery will depend on the procedures that your GraceMed performs based on your consultation and needs. However, in general, mommy makeover surgery takes several hours and is performed on an outpatient basis (meaning you can return home the night of your procedure). The operation is performed under general anaesthesia and lasts between three hours and five hours. It usually combines breast surgery and body reshaping surgery (liposuction, abdominoplasty, Brazilian butt lift, etc.).
This surgery is customized to your desires and needs, so long as the combination of procedures requested is safe.
The Mommy Makeover typically includes:
- Breast augmentation and/or mastopexy (breast lift) with abdominal liposuction;
- Breast augmentation and/or mastopexy (breast lift) with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck);
- Breast augmentation and/or mastopexy (breast lift) with Brazilian butt lift;
- Breast fat injection and abdominal liposuction.
Following the operation, you will need someone to take you home and help and monitor you for the first 24 hours.
If your treatment plan includes tummy tuck surgery, the doctors will begin by making a horizontal incision right above the pubic area. This incision will extend from hip bone to hip bone and should be easily concealed with a bathing suit. Through the incision, he will repair separated or weakened abdominal muscles and place internal sutures to hold the muscles into place. Your GraceMed surgeon will remove excess fat using liposuction techniques, and he may reposition the navel higher on the stomach. He will also excise extra skin and re-drape the remaining skin more tightly along the abdomen. When finished, he will close the incision with sutures and place surgical bandages.
If your treatment plan includes breast lift, your surgeon will make the surgical incisions around the areola, continuing vertically down to the crease of the breast and sometimes along the crease. Through the incision, he will remove excess breast skin and reshape the breast mound higher on the chest for a perkier-looking result. If you want your breasts to look fuller and shapelier, the surgeon can place saline or silicone breast implants. When finished with breast surgery, they will stitch the incisions closed and dress the area with bandages.
