Family Physician practicing in severe acne, eczema, psoriasis, lesions of concern, skin cancer surveillance, etc., with a special interest in the early diagnosis of melanoma.
Dr. Kate Austin, BScH, MD, CCFP, Dip.Derm, is a highly skilled and passionate Family Physician practicing in Skin Disorders, known for her empathetic and thorough approach to medical and cosmetic skin care. She runs her practice on the pillars of paramount care, expertise and an understanding that truly listening to the patient will lead to the best outcomes.
Dr. Austin is a strong proponent of consistently improving her practice whether through new professional learning opportunities, refining surgical techniques or researching the latest clinical trials and treatments for her patients. Dr. Austin is passionate about helping patients find a diagnosis and relief, easing the suffering that can be part of skin concerns and improving self-esteem through effective treatments. Educational Background
Dr. Austin earned her Honours Bachelor of Science degree from Queen’s University with High Distinction and graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University, where she developed an interest in dermatology. Dr. Austin then completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto and completed an intensive clinical traineeship in dermatology post-graduation. Additionally, Dr. Austin was awarded the Diploma of Practical Dermatology offered by the Department of Dermatology of the Cardiff University School of Medicine, in Wales, United Kingdom.
