Do you follow a healthy lifestyle, but have stubborn areas of fat that just won’t budge? As no-downtime body sculpting treatments continue to increase in popularity and accessibility, more and more people are turning to treatments that help shape and contour different areas of the body.

GraceMed’s Guide to Non-Surgical Body Contouring

We all have our reasons for wanting to look and feel better, but not all of us are interested in surgery. Perhaps we are working on our post-baby body, or perhaps we have undergone significant weight loss. Some of us may be looking forward to swimsuit season and want to put our best beach-body forward. Non-surgical body contouring treatments are designed to target and destroy fat cells without surgery, with some offering permanent results. With so many devices on the market, this guide will help you determine your best options.

Body contouring treatments offer a targeted way to reshape body areas such as the abdomen, love handles, upper arms, thighs, bra fat, and double chin.  Some work by freezing fat cells, while others employ heat through the use of radiofrequency (RF) energy or ultrasound. Once the fat cells have been destroyed, your body’s lymphatic system then eliminates them, generally within a few months.  The treatments are appealing because they are generally safe, minimally invasive, and with few side effects. Depending on your desired results, GraceMed offers a variety of non-surgical body contouring treatments.

Vanquish ME

This device uses radiofrequency energy to create heat and destroy fat cells, thus reducing inches in the abdomen or thighs. The sensation is often compared to that of a “warm blanket” while the applicator hovers over the treatment area for 45 minutes.

Exilis Ultra

This treatment combines radiofrequency and ultrasound technology to achieve skin tightening and fat reduction simultaneously.  It can improve virtually any body area affected by stubborn pockets of fat and/or skin laxity.  Exilis is one of the most popular body treatments at GraceMed, due to its versatility and comfortability – the sensation is often compared to that of a hot stone massage.

Emsculpt®

This revolutionary treatment builds muscle while reducing fat and defining the body. Indicated for the abdomen and buttocks, Emsculpt uses electromagnetic energy to stimulate powerful muscle contractions – like a supercharged workout without visiting the gym. Each 30-minute session is equal to doing 20,000 situps or squats!

Lipo Dissolve/Belkrya™

These injectable treatments use deoxycholic acid to target and reduce pockets of fat on the face or body. Belkyra in particular is indicated for “double chin”. A series of treatments is required for optimal results.

Non-surgical body treatments are appealing due to the fact that there is no anesthesia or downtime required. There may be some temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness after the treatments, however, any discomfort is generally minimal. In most cases, you can resume your daily activities immediately after the treatments

It is important to realize, however, that these procedures will not offer the same results as surgical procedures such as liposuction. They are also not intended to be a weight loss solution. In fact, the ideal candidate is already close to their desired weight and has a healthy lifestyle. While undergoing non-surgical body treatments, continuing with a healthy diet and regular exercise will help you maximize and maintain results. The team at GraceMed will help you decide which body sculpting treatment is best for you based on your needs and expectations.
