Cosmetic Facial Surgery

Our face is our calling card, it’s the first thing that people see when they meet you and the body part you look at almost daily in your mirror. Age, gravity lines, wrinkle, and sagging spot is this history of you but it’s the window to our age.

With age, skin becomes loose and wrinkles because of many environmental and hereditary issues. Weight, gravity, weather and genetics all play a role in our aging process. Facial surgeries can help correct these issues by tightening, contouring and toning the facial muscles, removing excess skin and giving your entire face a much-needed younger look.

Types of Cosmetic Facial Surgery

Puffy eyes can derail a youthful appearance. Luckily, eyelid surgery can reduce the puffiness and give you a more youthful appearance. Some of our patients have eyelid surgery to correct problems that are a result of aging, while others have inherited traits such as bags under their eyes that cause them to seek treatment at a younger age.

A brow lift will help take care of the top of your face and reduce sagging of the skin due to heredity, gravity or environmental factors. If you have a protruding brow, excess skin can be removed to ensure a thinner appearance. A brow lift can also treat overhanging skin in the upper eyelids, a naturally low brow, deep frown lines due to stress or muscle overactivity, or an expression of sadness or anger from sagging of the eyebrows

A facelift is one of the most well-known of all plastic surgeries. A facelift helps issues with the lower third of the face. A facelift is personalized for each individual client but normally is performed under general anesthesia. Facelifts are used to give a “refreshed” appearance to the face rather than address specific conditions such as sagging eyebrows, fatty deposits in the eyelids, or wrinkles around the mouth. Most commonly, a facelift addresses deflation or sagging in the cheeks, aging around the mouth, loss of jawline definition (jowls) and aging within the neck.

A minimally invasive procedure that helps lift the lower part of the face. Long-lasting results are possible if the underlying tissues and muscles are also lifted and reshaped. A mini lift can be performed as an outpatient procedure.

The jawline and neck area are also areas that show aging fast. The cosmetic neck lift, known technically as platysmaplasty, is a procedure to tighten loose skin and the underlying muscle under the neck and around the jawline.

Cosmetic facial surgery recovery and care

When you wake up from surgery, you may have special bandages or ice packs to reduce swelling, you’ll also be given a special set of instructions to follow to look for signs of infection or other issues in the days after surgery. Any bandages and drain tubes will usually be removed in one or two days.  At that time, you will notice puffiness and discoloration, which may be more pronounced in some portions of your face than others. Do not be alarmed by any unevenness or temporary asymmetry caused by the variance in swelling and bruising, which is perfectly normal. Generally, the greatest amount of the swelling occurs 24 – 48 hours after surgery, but it may take several weeks before all puffiness is resolved.  To minimize scarring and make sure you heal properly, you’ll want to follow all instructions for recovery and maintenance. As soon as the swelling begins to go down, you’ll notice the results of your facial surgery.

Non surgical facial procedures

In addition to surgical procedures to shape the face and improve patients’ confidence, GraceMed offers a full selection of non-surgical treatments. Non-invasive procedures are excellent as stand-alone therapies and can be included with surgical procedures to complement and further improve results. You don’t need extensive treatment to achieve the youthful and revitalized appearance you’re looking fo

FillersFacial fillers are injectable products that correct common signs of aging and contribute to a more youthful and healthy looking appearance. Facial fillers are very popular amongst patients who want to look their best but aren’t ready to commit to surgical facial rejuvenation. GraceMed believes in offering patients a choice in their treatment, and provides several different filler options.

Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid-based filler, meaning it replenishes the hyaluronic acid that diminishes due to aging. Hyaluronic acid is responsible for helping the skin cells retain moisture and the skin maintain its volume and elasticity. When injected, Juvederm plumps or raises the skin up while filling in the treated area. Almost instantly, lines look smoother, folds look fuller and the face takes on a more youthful-looking quality.

In some cases, Juvederm may be used to plump the lips, helping them look fuller and more feminine.

Sculptra is a facial filler made from poly-l-lactic acid. It is used primarily to sculpt the contours of the chin, cheeks, temples and eye area; it is ideal for filling in sunken cheeks/temples or thickening thin skin. The product stimulates the body to produce more collagen, which firms the skin and smoothes lines and wrinkles.

Because Sculptra triggers the body’s natural production of collagen, the results can last two years or more.

As an alternative to fillers such as Juvederm, GraceMed perform fat injections. They will use liposuction techniques to harvest unwanted fatty tissue from another area of the body (e.g., the abdomen or hips) and inject it into areas of the face that need additional support and volume. The results are natural-looking, safe and long-lasting. Also, the donor area that supplies the fat benefits from liposuction.

Botox injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. They’re also used to treat conditions such as neck spasms (cervical dystonia), excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), an overactive bladder and lazy eye. Botox injections may also help prevent chronic migraines.
